[ARCHIVED] Board of Directors Announce New District Manager

At Tuesday night’s Board of Directors meeting, the Board unanimously passed a resolution approving the district manager employment agreement between the Metro District and Christina “Nina” Vetter. Nina will start as the new district manager after the first of the year. Originally from Connecticut, Nina has been working for the City of Colorado Springs for the past five and a half years where she served as one of the City’s senior budget analysts and the strategic plan and performance administrator.

“I look forward to joining and serving this community, and the opportunity to lead a great organization with a bright future. Pueblo West is known for its high quality of life, and our district organization is known for our commitment to serving our citizens well each and every day. As district manager, I look forward to working with our Board, staff, and engaging our community to see how best our district can serve our citizens as our community continues to grow,” Nina said regarding her appointment.

Nina comes to the district manager position with nine years of experience in the government sector, including seven years in local government in Colorado and Illinois. In addition to her local level experience, she served in the U.S. State Department where she worked for USAID as a financial and management associate in the Country of Georgia. Nina holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from George Washington University and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University.

Earlier this summer the Board of Directors launched a nationwide recruitment effort for the district manager position. As a result, they received 17 applications, of which, they interviewed seven candidates and selected four finalists. The District Manager position was vacated this summer when former District Manager, Darrin Tangeman resigned after accepting the City Manager position with the City of Woodland Park.
