The Board of Directors has selected four finalists for the District Manager position. The finalists are Subhajeet S. Ghose, James M. Joerke, Christina L. Vetter, and Steven E. Westbay. Here are brief bios of the finalists:
Subhajeet S. Ghose has been a public servant for 30 years and is currently employed in Kentucky. He has raised organizations to greater relevancy through strong ethical, respectful, responsible, and inclusive leadership.
James M. Joerke has over 20 years of local government experience, including 10 in leadership roles. He most recently served as Deputy Director of Health and Environment in Johnson County, Kansas.
Christina L. Vetter is the Strategy and Performance Administrator with the City of Colorado Springs and has nine years of government experience. She has a Master’s in Public Administration and Bachelor in Business Administration.
Steven E. Westbay has 14 years municipal executive management experience with the city of Gunnison. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and holds a master’s degree from CU.
Earlier this summer the Board of Directors launched a nationwide recruitment effort. As a result, they received 17 applications, of which, they chose to interview seven candidates.
The next step in the recruitment process will be a community meet and greet on the evening of October 24 at 6 p.m. at the Pueblo West Administration Office, 109 E. Industrial Blvd.
The Board tentatively plans to make an offer by the end of October and have the new District Manager start no later than January 2019.
The District Manager position was vacated this summer when former District Manager, Darrin Tangeman resigned after accepting the City Manager position with the City of Woodland Park.
