[ARCHIVED] Preserving Neighborhood Aesthetics

Current hot topics for discussion and education are being submitted for publication by the Committee of Architecture as a means to educate and bring clarity to our citizens in regard to the covenants.

The Pueblo West Declaration of Reservations states on page 6 the following:

Storage of Tools and Trash:
The storage of tools, landscaping instruments, household effects, machinery or machinery parts, boats, trailers, empty or filled containers, boxes or bags, trash, materials, or other items that shall in appearance, detract from the aesthetic values of the property, shall be so placed and stored to be concealed from view from all public right of ways.  Trash for collection may be placed at the street right of way line or regular collection days for a period not to exceed twelve hours, prior to pick up. Storage of junk, old inoperative unlicensed cars, and other unsightly objects on any lot or parcel is expressly prohibited.

That paragraph says a lot but is very understandable.  Trash containers, totes and bags must be placed inside of the garage or behind a fence until trash collection day.  By doing so, the aesthetics of neighborhoods may be preserved as well as it would help to prevent the wind blowing trash throughout the community.

Unlicensed, inoperable vehicles are not to be parked on properties in Pueblo West in view of public right of ways or neighboring properties.  They seem to multiply like rabbits.  If you have a wrecked vehicle, a vehicle you are working on, or a vehicle that you no longer drive, remove it from the property or park it inside of a building.

Please, let’s keep Pueblo West the beautiful community that we all want to live in.
