Pueblo West, Colorado – August 14, 2017 – Pueblo West Metro District Board and SECOM, the broadband and telecommunications subsidiary of Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA), reached an economic development agreement to construct a new facility in Pueblo West. The new facility is part of continued growth in the greater Pueblo area that includes two recent acquisitions of DD Wireless and Vision Broadband, which itself had just acquired Pueblo Wireless.
The La Junta based company currently has 10 employees in a satellite sales office and operations facility in Pueblo West. As soon as construction is finished, SECOM will combine the two existing locations into the new location, and expand to over 15 employees. “We are excited that SECOM chose to expand their operation in Pueblo West and with it, bring at least five new jobs to Pueblo West,” said Pueblo West District Manager, Darrin Tangeman about the SECOM expansion.
Rob Thayer, Chief Marketing Officer, added “This Pueblo West location will offer SECOM’s current and future customers in this market area an enhanced sales and service experience.” He went further to state “The facility is designed for double our initial employment capacity so we look to offer additional jobs as more residents and businesses choose SECOM as their preferred provider.”
SECOM is one of Colorado’s premier providers of fast and affordable internet, phone, and data services, providing competitive and innovative data transport solutions since 1998 over high-speed fiber optic lines and state-of the-art fixed wireless technologies. SECOM owns more than 1,600 miles of fiber optic line and 130 towers throughout southeastern Colorado. The company employees over 70 employees in La Junta, Lamar, Pueblo West and Westcliffe.
Groundbreaking on the new facility is set to begin soon at 658 E. Spaulding Avenue and SECOM plans to move in by the end of the year.
