We are also following state guidelines for "Safer at Home" from Governor Polis’ executive order that can be read here: https://covid19.colorado.gov/safer-at-home/recreation

[June 4,2020 - Pueblo West, CO]--Following state guidelines for COVID-19 “Safer at Home”, Pueblo West Metropolitan District Parks and Recreation department will be opening up the following areas on Monday, June 8, 2020; playground equipment, tennis courts, skate park, fields and public restrooms. On Monday, June 15, Parks and Recreation will be opening the splash pad located at Civic Center Park.

Pueblo West Metropolitan has also made the decision to cancel the Pueblo West Fourth of July Parade for 2020. Based on recent CDC and State guidelines and in support of community and county partners and their event cancellations as well as putting the safety and health of our community first, we will not be holding this event in 2020.

Pueblo West Metropolitan is working hard to plan a fireworks show to accommodate the North and South side of Pueblo West and once we have details, we will let the community know.

We want to remind our community that it’s still important to follow health department guidelines to wear a mask when you are in public or around others out of your normal contact group, keep six-feet social distancing and continue to frequently wash your hands while avoiding touching your face.

We want to reiterate the importance of 10 person limitation using the splash pad. This is for the safety and concern of all children and community members using the splash pad.

As outdoor recreation moves toward opening we ask that the community work together and be courteous of one another while frequenting shared spaces. Guidelines state to limit the use of fields, playgrounds and shared recreational spaces to less than 10 individuals at a given time. No organized team sports or field reservations at this time. Please respect the guidelines and allow others to use the shared spaces while practicing social distancing and good hand hygiene.

The Pueblo West dog park will remain closed until further notice because of current upgrades being done. There is still maintenance taking place and the grass was reseeded in March and hasn’t had the adequate amount of time to fully germinate. Once the area is ready for usage we will announce the opening to the community.

The following program has been POSTPONED:
