2024 Budget Process

The Pueblo West Metropolitan District is committed to transparency in its budget development process. Unlike other municipalities, county governments, and special districts, the Pueblo West Metro District is sharing its budget process with the public at this stage of development.

Public Involvement

The Pueblo West Metropolitan District invited the public to take part in the early stages of the budget creation process in July. At this stage, Metro District leaders shared their suggested priorities for 2024. In two open budget committee meetings, the public was invited to share their opinions about what should or shouldn't be funded next year. 

However, note that there are no further opportunities for the public to participate at budget committee meetings. Learn more about that public involvement effort. 

Budget Development timeline

  • Summer: Budget Committee meetings
  • Fall: Draft Budget Development
  • Nov. & Dec.: Public Hearing, Public Review
  • December: Board Adoption
