Fishing
Pueblo West's Cattail Crossing boasts a 3.75 acre pond that offers young anglers 15 and younger, as well as fishing enthusiasts with disabilities, an opportunity to fish.
A Colorado fishing "hot spot", the Pueblo Reservoir and Arkansas River permits fishing on the shore or by boat for anglers can reel in: trout, walleye, large and smallmouth bass, crappie, channel catfish, wiper (a cross between white bass and stripe bass), bluegill, and yellow perch.

Boating
Taking to the water in your power boat, sailboat, jetski, or canoe is a great way to enjoy Colorado’s many waterways.Whether trolling around Pueblo Reservoir or floating down the Arkansas, it's important to use common sense while you’re out on the water.

Swimming
Pueblo West Pool

The Pueblo West Parks and Recreation department has an outdoor heated swimming pool that is open from Memorial Day thru mid-August when schools go back in session.
Learn to swim sessions for children are scheduled during the summer months with morning or evening lessons available.
Also offered is lap swim for adults before the pool opens in the afternoons. The pool is also reservable for private parties on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays from 6:00-8:00pm.
Rock Canyon Swim Beach
During the hot summer months, the Rock Canyon Swim Beach at Lake Pueblo State Park offers park visitors a place to swim.
There are NO lifeguards on duty. Swimming is at your own risk. We encourage you to pack a picnic lunch and stay the day, but please remember that no glass or pets are allowed in the beach compound. There is no additional fee to get into the beach, but a park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park.
Swimming is NOT allowed in the Pueblo reservoir. Cliff-diving is also strictly prohibited and extremely dangerous.
