Flow Style Yoga

An Easy-to-follow program for all levels of physical abilities.

You've probably heard that yoga is great for reducing stress, increasing flexibility, and improving your overall health.  But can yoga help you get into shape?  Most definitely.

Getting in shape means losing weight, improving muscle tone and strength, and feeling fitter and healthier.  While yoga is a great practice that is accessible to all (including seniors, and the overweight), it is not a quick fix.  It takes time and commitment to lengthen and strengthen your muscles.

Come enjoy this Tuesday evening of yoga and experience various postures linked together in a flowing fitness format.  The Summer sessions will be held at the Memorial Recreation Bldg., at 230 E. George Dr.

sit.jpgSenior Sit 'n Stretch

An easy fitness class for the senior.

An important part of the aging adult is their health and wellness. Chair exercises will help you stay in shape and increase your metabolism without worrying about aching bones and joints and will increase your energy levels and alertness.

If you stretch a mere 15-20 minutes every day, it will only take a few weeks before you notice a big difference in how you feel:

  • Better range of joint motion - which may reduce arthiritis pain.
  • Increased flexibility - making everyday tasks such as carrying groceries or getting dressed easier.
  • Improved circulation - which helps reduce inflammation.
  • Reduced muscle tension - helping to alleviate stress.
