Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby
The Pueblo West Metropolitan District Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Jubic family, the Pueblo West Rotary Club, and Colorado Division of Wildlife, had around 261 children between the ages of 4-15 participate in the 7th annual Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby, held on Saturday, April 21.
It was a beautiful day and the fish were finally biting. Thank you to all the volunteers, from the registration line to the prize givers to those cooking the hot dogs, especially the organizations that came to help on-site and teach the correct procedures of fishing and make children aware of their environment while fishing at the Cattails Crossing pond.
As always, prizes were given to the different age groups who caught the biggest, smallest, and most fish. Prizes are also awarded for the BEST Tom Sawyer & Becky Thatcher "look a-likes".
The 7th annual 2012 Tom Sawyer Fishing
Derby was a success thanks to you!!
See you next year!!
