McCulloch Boulevard Reconstruction Project

groundbreakingmcculloch.jpg

Reconstruction of McCulloch Boulevard began in July, 2011 as Pueblo West and Pueblo County Officials participated in a ground-breaking ceremony marking the start of a 10 month, $5 million project.

The 1.7-mile stretch of McCulloch Blvd will become three lanes between Hahns Peak Avenue and John Powell, including a turn lane, and four lanes plus the addition of a traffic signal at the intersection of Joe Martinez Boulevard.

According to Richard Morgan, Pueblo West Metro's Director of Public Works, as many as 21,000 vehicles travel along the main corridor of McCulloch each day, signifying the need to increase safety with a continuous turn lane and traffic signal. The reconstruction project is slated for completion in May, 2012.
