Windy Conditions

With gusts over 50 MPH, it gets pretty windy around Pueblo West.Trampoline WindDigging from TumbleweedsBurning Tumbleweeds

Fall and winter weather is quickly approaching, and please take safety precautions to ensure outdoor items are safely secured.

Moving objects may cause severe damage to property, as well as create safety obstacles for emergency responders.

Weeds and other debris may also cause safety hazards by blowing across roads and blocking visibility by clogging fences and tree lines.

With the open spaces Pueblo West has to offer, it is not uncommon for tumbleweeds to overtake neighborhoods, trapping residents inside their homes and blocking streets. In order to alleviate this problem, it is advised to keep weeds at a minimum.

Weeds may be burned in residential areas by obtaining a burn permit from the Pueblo West Fire Department. For more information on burning, please contact the fire department's Administration office at (719) 547-7337.
