Water Consumption

This monthly bar chart displays Pueblo West’s gross raw water consumption for the years 2003 through May 2008 in Acre Feet. The volume of an acre-foot is exactly 43,560 cubic feet or 325,851 gallons. As you can see June and July’s consumption is more than 3 times greater than in the winter months. Water consumption during the hottest and driest days of the year will be another 1.5 times greater than that months average. Water Consumption during the Peak Hour (5-6 am) may be more than 2 times the daily average. Currently June’s Peak Hour water consumption is greater than 10,000 gallons per minute.

Precipitation, humidity and temperature have a dramatic effect on water consumption during the summer months.
