On Wednesday, March 13 at approximately 3:20 p.m. A massive gust of wind associated with the bomb cyclone that impacted much of Colorado, lifted the roof structure and portions of HVAC system from the roof of the Metro District Administration Building. Debris from the roof flew south into the front parking lot, E. Industrial Blvd., and into the property on the south side of Industrial Blvd. Debris damaged a vehicle parked on the south side of Industrial (130 E. Industrial Blvd) across from the Administration Building. At the time of the event, only four people were inside the Administration Building and were able to safely vacate the building. There were no injuries as a result of this event.Damage to the Administration Building was extensive and resulted in the closing of the office building for the foreseeable future. The damage closed E. Industrial Blvd for 48 hours. It reopened on Friday, March 15 at 2:55 p.m. This closure displaced 24 employees and public facing departments that handle most of the District's permitting process, water billing, and excise tax collection. District leadership are currently working to identify temporary office space to relocate displaced staff. They plan to have a location set by Tuesday, March 19, and staff back to work full time by mid-week next week. Also by March 19, the Metro District intends to have a physical location for residents to drop off your bill payment to pay your water bill in-person. Other options available today for bill payment include: ⁃ Pay online at www.pueblowestmetro.com ($2.35 card processing fee applied) ⁃ Pay by phone by calling 855-560-5617 ($2.35 card processing fee applied) ⁃ Mail in payment to P.O.
