Community Food Basket Drive

The Pueblo West Parks and Recreation Department, partners with the local district schools each year to collect canned and dry foods to make Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for Pueblo West families.

Food & Toy Drives
Names are supplied by the school counselors and then baskets are made up from the food drives the schools have for both seasons. At Christmas time, the high school has a "new toy" drive and then other local organizations plan a
wrapping day and wrap all the gifts for the children in the families.

Donations


To support those in need, many Pueblo West
residents and local businesses donate the
following:
  • Canned food
  • Hams and turkeys
  • hat & gloves
  • Paper products
  • Toys
     

Current Items


The Pueblo West Parks and Recreation office will
be accepting 2018 donations between the hours of
8 am to 2 pm for the following items: 

  • Food donations for the Thanksgiving baskets from November 5-9
  • New toy donations and Food donations from December 5-12
  • After Thanksgiving, an "Angel Christmas" tree will be located in the Metro District office, where tags will be hung for those who want to donate presents for the children in the families.
